McCollum signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent Tuesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. The 5-foot-8 wideout was originally slated to sign with the Giants after going undrafted in late April, but he now appears to have found a home in Seattle. Over his two seasons at North Carolina, McCollum caught 68 passes for 743 yards and one touchdown, while also adding 448 kick-return yards. Now in Seattle, McCollum is expected to compete for a depth role in the team's wide receiver corps.

Latest Seahawks News
Nate McCollum : Moving to Seattle
McCollum signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent Tuesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. The 5-foot-8 wideout was originally slated to sign with the Giants after going undrafted in late April, but he now appears to have found a home in Seattle. Over his two seasons at North Carolina, McCollum caught 68 passes for 743 yards and one touchdown, while also adding 448 kick-return yards. Now in Seattle, McCollum is expected to compete for a depth role in the team's wide receiver corps.
Robbie Ouzts : Being converted to fullback
The Seahawks are planning to convert Ouzts, whom they selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, from tight end to fullback, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports. Ouzts played a versatile role during his four years in college at Alabama, and as a tight end he worked primarily as a blocker. That should help the rookie with his conversion to a fullback in the NFL, and Henderson notes that the decision is part of a plan by new OC Klint Kubiak to deploy a more physical run game. Ouzts will likely compete for reps in fullback packages with Brady Russell, who is also making a change from tight end to fullback for the coming campaign.
Elijah Arroyo : Past knee issue
Arroyo said Friday that he is no longer dealing with the knee injury that limited him leading up to the NFL Draft, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports. The knee issue prevented Arroyo from running the 40 at either the NFL Combine or his pro day, though Seattle was able to estimate him at 4.52/4.53 based on his GPS speeds. The injury didn't deter the Seahawks from drafting the big tight end out of Miami in the second round (50th overall), however, making him the fifth tight end off the board. Arroyo has a chance to carve out a significant role in the team's offense, especially if he can have a big training camp -- while Noah Fant tallied a respectable 500 receiving yards on 48 catches during the regular season last year, he has only one touchdown reception over the past two campaigns.
Johnathan Hankins : Returning to Seattle
The Seahawks re-signed Hankins to a one-year deal Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Hankins will return to Seattle where he racked up 30 tackles (15 solo), with 1.0 sacks, and an interception across 17 games played during the 2024 campaign. The 2013 second-round pick will likely compete with Byron Murphy (back) for the team's starting nose tackle spot.
Charles Cross : Fifth-year option picked up
The Seahawks exercised Cross' fifth-year option Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Cross will now be tied to Seattle through the 2026 campaign after having been selected ninth overall by the team in the 2022 Draft. He has only missed three games across his first three seasons and should serve as the teams starting left tackle once again during the upcoming campaign.
Noah Fant : Competition arrives via draft
Fant could face competition for the starting job after the Seahawks selected Elijah Arroyo (knee) in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. A 2019 first-round pick, Fant's career has never truly taken off, as his best marks for receiving were in 2020 when he posted a 62-673-3 line, and he has scored just one touchdown over the past two seasons with the Seahawks. Thus, it's not surprising that the Seahawks addressed tight end early in the draft after also taking AJ Barner in the fourth round last year. Arroyo may take some time to develop, but he looks like the Seahawks' long-term plan at the position.
Drew Lock : Faces competition for backup job
Lock will face competition for the No. 2 quarterback job behind Sam Darnold after the Seahawks selected Jalen Milroe in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft For a brief moment the Seahawks had three capable backups in their quarterback room, but they traded Sam Howell to the Vikings on Day 3 of the draft. Thus, Lock will need to earn the No. 2 job in his second stint with the Seahawks. Milroe has unique tools for the position, showcasing 4.4 speed and a marvelous deep ball, while Lock has experience on his side and is one of the better backups in the league.
Sam Howell : Receiving trade interest
The Seahawks have received trade inquiries about Howell and are open to trading him, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Howell served as Seattle's backup last season and threw just 14 passes behind the mostly healthy Geno Smith. With Smith now in Las Vegas, Seattle has revamped its quarterback room, bringing in both Sam Darnold and Drew Lock. GM John Schneider said earlier this week that Howell would compete with Lock for the backup QB role, but the organization's reported willingness to deal Howell suggests that Lock has the inside track on the job. Howell could be an intriguing option for teams in need of a backup QB -- despite his struggles in a very limited sample last season (he completed just five of those 14 pass attempts), he has ample experience as a starter, completing 63 percent of his pass attempts for 3,946 yards and a 21:21 TD:INT over 17 regular-season games with Washington in 2023.
