Rockets general manager Rafael Stone said Tuesday that Adams (knee) is on track to be available for training camp, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston. Adams missed the 2023-24 campaign after receiving a season-ending knee surgery in November. The 30-year-old is likely to serve as a veteran presence off the bench behind Alperen Sengun (knee/ankle) next season.

Latest Rockets News
Steven Adams : On track for training camp
Rockets general manager Rafael Stone said Tuesday that Adams (knee) is on track to be available for training camp, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston. Adams missed the 2023-24 campaign after receiving a season-ending knee surgery in November. The 30-year-old is likely to serve as a veteran presence off the bench behind Alperen Sengun (knee/ankle) next season.
Tari Eason : On track for training camp
Rockets general manager Rafael Stone said Tuesday that Eason (lower leg) is on track to be available for training camp, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston. Eason underwent surgery in March to treat a benign growth in his lower leg but is expected to make a full recovery by the time training camp rolls around in the fall. In 22 appearances last season, Eason averaged 9.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.4 steals in 21.8 minutes. The 22-year-old is a versatile prospect on both ends of the floor, but with other young options in the frontcourt such as Jabari Smith, Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore, Eason may struggle to win playing time.
Nate Williams : Plays well in finale
Williams contributed 13 points (6-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 0-3 FT), three rebounds, one block and one steal across 21 minutes during Sunday's 116-105 victory over the Clippers. Williams had just 21 appearances under his belt coming into the season finale, with an average of 5.1 minutes per contest. Williams played on a two-way contract this season, but the final impression he left on the coaching staff was a good one.
Cam Whitmore : Finishes rookie season strong
Whitmore finished Sunday's 116-105 victory over the Clippers with 21 points (9-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-3 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one block across 36 minutes. This was a strong finish to Whitmore's rookie season, and he seems poised to take on a larger role in 2024-25. In 47 appearances, Whitmore compiled averages of 12.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.7 three-pointers on 45.4 percent shooting from the field.
Amen Thompson : Triple-doubles in season finale
Thompson recorded 18 points (8-9 FG, 2-3 FT), 11 rebounds, 10 assists, three blocks and three steals in 40 minutes during Sunday's 116-105 win over the Clippers. Thompson finished the regular season with a bang, posting his first career triple-double. The Rockets were missing a couple key players Sunday, so Thompson was able to show what he could do with increased usage. His rookie season was full of promise, and Thompson finished the campaign with averages of 9.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.3 steals on 53.7 percent shooting from the field.
Cam Whitmore : Running with starters Sunday
Whitmore is in the starting lineup for Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Clippers, Jackson Gatlin of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Whitmore's explosive rookie year will end with his second start of the season, and he'll look to build off the five points and four rebounds he posted in 27 minutes in his prior start on Jan. 21. Whitmore is flanked by Amen Thompson and Jabari Smith on the wings.
Dillon Brooks : Ruled out for Sunday
Brooks is out for Sunday's game against the Clippers with left adductor soreness. Brooks is one of several regulars who won't play for the Rockets in the season finale, as the coaching staff doesn't want to risk him in a meaningless game since Houston is out of the playoff race. Brooks will end his first year with the Rockets organization with averages of 12.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.9 steals across 30.9 minutes per game in 72 starts.
Fred VanVleet : Won’t play Sunday
VanVleet (hip) will not play Sunday against the Clippers. VanVleet will end up sitting for the second time in a row to end the regular season. His debut campaign with the Rockets was a success, as he averaged a career-high 8.1 assists to go with 17.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 3.1 three-pointers.
