Seattle signed Torrence to a contract Friday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports. Torrence wasn't selected in the NFL Draft in late April but will get a shot to make his case for a roster or practice-squad spot after signing with the Seahawks. The 6-foot-3 defensive back played the final two seasons of college with Arizona State and totaled 37 tackles (including 2.0 sacks) along with an interception in 2023. Torrence allowed just 20 receptions in coverage last season, the lowest total among Pac-12 cornerbacks with at least 300 snaps played in coverage during the regular season.
The Seahawks signed Hatten to a contract Friday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. Hatten made a name for himself over his final two collegiate seasons with Idaho, averaging 88 catches for 1,218 yards and 12.5 touchdowns during that span. The 6-foot-2 wideout initially joined the Vandals as a tight end but switched to receiver during his first year. Hatten isn't particularly fast, but he has strong hands and rarely drops catchable passes. He'll look to add depth to Seattle's receiver room for the coming campaign.
Seattle signed Cordeiro to a contract Friday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. Cordeiro spent the final two years of his collegiate career with San Jose State, totaling 6,024 passing yards and 43 touchdowns with just 10 interceptions during that span. He added 12 rushing touchdowns and 537 rushing yards during his tenure with the Spartans, though he averaged just 2.5 yards per run. Cordeiro is a bit undersized at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, and he is already 24 years old, but he has a big arm and could get a chance to make the Seahawks' practice squad as depth behind Geno Smith and Sam Howell.
Walker is expected to remain the No. 1 running back for the 2024 season after the Seahawks didn't select a running back in the NFL Draft. The Seahawks did sign George Holani and TaMerik Williams as undrafted free agents, per Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic, but neither player presents a real threat to Walker's job. While Walker and 2023 second-round pick Zach Charbonnet split snaps last season, Walker was still the clear No. 1 back with 219 carries for 905 yards (4.1 YPC) and eight touchdowns. He added 29 receptions for 259 yards and a score. The Seahawks added three linemen in the draft, including third-round pick Christian Haynes, so they're hoping their offensive line will show more consistency this year.
The Seahawks and Tomlinson agreed to a one-year contract Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Addressing one of its top needs along the offensive line, Seattle is bringing in Tomlinson, who has started 138 games, all but one of them at left guard, across nine NFL campaigns between the Lions, 49ers and Jets. The 32-year-old is slated to slot in at the aforementioned position with his new squad.
Nwosu (pectoral) indicated Wednesday that he "absolutely" expects to be ready for the start of training camp, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports. Nwosu is coming off a season-ending torn pectoral that he suffered this past October, but the edge rusher appears to be progressing well -- barring any setbacks, the 27-year-old is poised to reclaim his key role in the Seahawks defense this coming season. Prior to his injury, Nwosu -- who racked up a career high 9.5 sacks in 2022 -- recorded 16 tackles and 2.0 sacks in six regular-season games last year.
The Seahawks re-signed Onujiogu (elbow) to an exclusive rights contract Monday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. Onujiogu missed the entire 2023 campaign due to a tendon issue in his elbow. He suited up for one game as an undrafted rookie in 2022. Now presumably back to full health, Onujiogu gets a chance to further his development with Seattle over the offseason, and to hopefully compete for a depth roster spot.
