According to the L.A. Times, police hunting for rogue ex-cop Christopher Jordan Dorner mistakenly targeted two separate vehicles that matched the description of Dorner's truck.
At 5:20 a.m. local time on Thursday, L.A. cops in the town of Torrance shot two people, who proved to be unrelated to the case. They were taken to a hospital. In a separate incident, this one involving Torrance police at 5:45 a.m., shot(s) were fired and no one was injured.
Dornor's vehicle is 2005 charcoal gray Nissan Titan pickup truck. ABC News Los Angeles reports that he may have changed the car's license plate from 7X03191 to 8D83987.
The first incident occurred in Torrance on the 19500 block of Redbeam Avenue.
The second incident also took place in Torrance, at Flagler Lane and Beryl Street. No one was reported injured in the second incident.
Torrance police Lt. Devin Chase spoke to The Los Angeles Times and stated that both incidents involved vehicles matching the description of the one sought in connection with Dorner.

Now it appears neither of them are directly related. In both of them, officers believed they were at the time.
