There has been a shooting at a Walmart in Belmont, North Carolina, reports NBC Charlotte.

Here’s what you need to know:


1. A Suspect is Still at Large

WSOC-TV reports that police in the area are searching for a suspect. The suspect is said to be a black male with no shirt. There is another man in custody in relation to the case, reports NBC Charlotte.


2. One Person Was Shot

WBTV reports that one person was shot in the attack. Police have commented on the condition of the victim.

3. Gunfire Broke Out Inside the Store

The shots were reportedly fired inside the Walmart.


4. Stores in the Area are on Lockdown

A local care facility, Holy Angels of Belmont, is on lockdown while police search for the suspect. The Lowes next door to the Walmart is also on lockdown. However the Gaston County School District have confirmed that they are not affected by the shooting or lockdowns.

5. Cops Are Searching Through the Walmart

Residents are being asked to stay indoors as the search continues. WSOC-TV reports that the Walmart is flooded with cops searching for a second suspect.
