Police in Cobb County, Georgia say a woman was shot to death Monday, April 21 in the parking lot of the Cumberland Mall.

Here’s what you need to know:

1. A Woman Was Killed

Multiple outlets reported Monday that one person was rushed to a local hospital after being shot. Fox 5 Atlanta reported Tuesday morning that both the suspect and victim have died.

WSB TV reported Tuesday morning that the victim is 55-year-old Violet Lambert.


2. The Suspect Is Dead

WSB reported Tuesday that the suspect, identified as 59-year-old Danny Wray Brown, was found dead in his home of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Cumberland Mall Twitter account has been quiet since the reported shooting. Ironically, the account’s last tweet was about how nice it was outside of Macy’s.


5. Police Were Securing the Area Monday

Kaitlyn Ross of 11Live News reports that Macy’s was still open Monday afternoon and that police were interviewing shoppers.
