On Wednesday, November 20, witnesses say they saw 17-year-old Noe Nino de Rivera trying to break up a fight between two girls at Cedar Creek High School in Cedar Creek, Texas. When two police arrived, including Officer Randy McMillan, Rivera was tasked and is now in an induced coma at the hospital after suffering a brain hemorrhage.

Now, Rivera is undergoing surgery and his mother is trying to seek justice for him by bringing suit against Bishop's county and Sheriff's Department Officer Randy McMillian for the injury.

Via KXAN, the police report calling Rivera's actions "interference."

The Sheriff's Department claims that Rivera was interfering with the officer's attempts at breaking up the fight, but students disagree. Many claim that Rivera attempted to break up the fight, and cooperated when officers arrived by backing away with his hands raised.

Rivera, who once dreamed of joining the Marines, remains in critical condition.
