Caretaker Accused of Sexually Assaulting 106-Year-Old Patient

You’d think if you live 106 years, you could take it easy and not have to worry about some sicko trying to molest you.

Apparently not in Florida, where a female caregiver is under arrest for allegedly sexually assaulting the elderly, bedridden woman, Pensacola Police said.

Taquita Lashay Watson, 29, had been providing in-home care of the woman, who complained the caretaker had assaulted her with a sex instrument, the Smoking Gun reported.

The elderly lady, who cops said had “no known mental health issues” and whose “mental capacity appeared to be fine,” told police that Watson allegedly “pulled her pants and diaper down and told her that this “would make her feel good.” When she screamed at her to stop, Watson told her “all the old people like it and it makes them feel good.”

The victim, though, said she started to bleed and Watson cursed at her and said she’d succeed next time and threatened to hurt her if she told anyone. The elderly woman was given a sexual assault examination that revealed “obvious signs of trauma.”

Police are investigating if Watson, who has cared for the elderly for eight years, has victimized anyone else. She is in the Escambia County Jail in lieu of $25,000. Police listed her employer as Interim HealthCare of Pensacola.
