As the town of Kennebunk prepares to endure more media coverage, more is coming to light about the alleged johns featured on the second list, released by local police earlier today.
One of the men has already been reported to be a former locations manager from the hit Fox show The X-Files, and now the Bangor Daily News reports that one of the men is former Portland, Maine, city planner Joe Lewis.
He’s the second high-profile lawyer and the second public servant implicated in the scandal, after the first batch of names included lawyer Jens W. Bergen and former South Portland, Maine, mayor James. A. Soule.
BDN reports that Lewis left the planning board last week. In his bio posted on Portcitylegal.com, Lewis describes himself:
I was born in the Midwest, and have lived in New England, in and around NYC, and California. My family and I chose to move here in 1999, and are now firmly settled in Portland. I can honestly say that of all the wonderful places I’ve had the chance to live in, Portland, ME is exactly where I want to be.
I’m heavily invested in the community. I served on the Portland Zoning Board of Appeal from 2000-2005. I have served on the Portland Planning Board since 2008, and am currently chair of that board. I have coached and umpired for the local Little League, and have volunteered in the schools.
I graduated with honors from the University of Maine School of Law, where I was selected as class speaker. Previously, I earned a BA in History from Fordham University.
