Orange Madness: Man Stabbed At Syracuse Basketball Event

Syracuse Orange Madness Stabbing

Orange Madness is a yearly pep rally for the University of Syracuse’s basketball program designed to kick off the college basketball season. At this year’s event a 25-year-old man was stabbed and wounded. A fight occurred in the concourse near the concession stands and the victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital.

The victim is in stable condition, but has not identified his attackers. No suspects are in custody.

Several other fights broke out in the same area at the same time, causing police to end the event early. No one involved in the fights was associated with the university.

The man was stabbed at around 9:30pm Friday night. The university has since issued a statement decrying the incident and promising to do all it can to prevent future acts of violence at similar events.
