UFC 118 Weigh-Ins On Spike TV Draw Nearly 400,000 Viewers

The UFC 118 weigh-in special on Spike TV from this past Friday drew an estimated average of 380,000 viewers.

MMAjunkie.com confirmed the numbers earlier today.

The weigh-ins broadcast on Spike TV, which aired at 4 p.m. ET the day prior to UFC 118, showed all 20 fighters hit the scales, including lightweight champion Frankie Edgar, former longtime champion BJ Penn, boxing legend James Toney, and UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture.

A source close to the event told MMAjunkie.com that the numbers for the broadcast were “pretty good”. However, the ratings fell well short of the weigh-in special on Spike TV prior to UFC 116, which drew an average of 645,000 viewers, mostly due to the return of Brock Lesnar to the Octagon. On a positive note, the broadcast did very well in terms of reaching the male demographic of 18-34, according to the aforementioned source.
