Check out this awesome video of the greatest move in MMA history
We're all going to miss the action of World Extreme Cagefighting.
The sister promotion to the UFC provided some of the greatest moments, fights and events in mixed martial arts history, and while the merger with the UFC is a good thing for everybody involved, it doesn't mean we won't miss the action provided by the "little promotion that could."
Last night here in Glendale, the WEC went out in style. Fans were treated to a card filled with action from the very beginning of the night, but nothing was more spectacular than what happened at the end of the main event fight between WEC lightweight champion Ben Henderson and challenger Anthony Pettis.
Pettis - known for his unorthodox striking style - provided what may ultimately be known as the single greatest moment in mixed martial arts history when he used the newly-dubbed "Showtime Kick" to put an emphatic statement on his win over Henderson. Check the video out below.
Crazy, huh?
Pettis now moves on to face the winner of the Gray Maynard/Frankie Edgar UFC lightweight title fight that takes place at UFC 125.
Hear what Anthony Pettis had to say about his Showtime Kick in our exclusive post-fight interview.
