Riddle vs. Yousef set for UFC 154
UFC welterweight Matt Riddle has agreed to step in for an injured Stephen Thompson at UFC 154 next month.
The event takes place on November 17 in Montreal, and Riddle meets Besam Yousef on the evening’s preliminary card.
UFC officials announced the match up over the weekend.
Riddle found himself in the news recently for a failed drug test following UFC 149. He defeated Chris Clements at that event to earn “Submission of the Night” honors, but that win was changed to a no contest after Riddle tested positive for marijuana.
He was handed a 90 day suspension, but when it was revealed that he was suspended, he had already served the vast majority of that suspension.
Meanwhile, Yousef debuted at “UFC on FUEL TV 2” this past April. Simeon Thoresen defeated him by way of submission.
