Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey Weigh-In Results

Miesha Tate vs. Ronda Rousey (Strikeforce)

Josh Thomson vs. K.J. Noons (Strikeforce)

All fighters hit marks for Saturday card in Columbus, Ohio

All the fighters on Saturday’s Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey card made their weights and are official for their bouts at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Friday’s official weigh-in event took place at The Arnold Sports Festival at the Columbus Convention Center, nearby Nationwide Arena, which hosts Saturday’s card. The main card airs live on Showtime starting at 10 p.m. Eastern; the preliminary card is the second to be broadcast on Showtime Extreme. That portion of coverage starts at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Main event women’s bantamweight title fighters Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey each came in a half-pound under their 135-pound maximum for the title fight. Each fighter weighed in at 134.5 pounds. This will be Tate’s first defense of the title that she took from Marloes Coenen last July. The fight is Rousey’s first at bantamweight after going 4-0 – with four quick armbar submissions – at featherweight.

There has been plenty of trash talk between Tate and Rousey in the months leading up to this title fight, including Tate saying she doesn’t believe Rousey has earned a title shot yet – but Sarah Kaufman, who fights on the preliminary card, has. It all gets settled on Saturday.

And in his first fight in more than a year, Josh Thomson was 155 pounds for his lightweight fight against K.J. Noons, who was 156. Also on the card, Paul Daley was 171 pounds for his fight against Kazuo Misaki, a former Pride champion.
