UFC 129 Preliminary Special Set For Spike TV

UFC 129 gets preliminary special on Spike TV

Two bouts are expected to make up the recently announced UFC 129 preliminary card special on Spike TV.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced the news during the UFC 127 broadcast last night.

In the first bout expected to make the hour-long special, welterweights Brian Foster and Sean Pierson will do battle, while, in the final preliminary bout of the evening, Nate Diaz will fight Canadian prospect Rory MacDonald in another 170 lb. bout.

UFC 129 is one of the most highly anticipated events in the history of the promotion, as the UFC is set to make its debut in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Over 50,000 tickets have already been sold, earning approximately $11 million dollars. Both figures will crush the records currently held in the sport of mixed martial arts.

The historic event is set for Toronto’s Rogers Centre on April 30 and will broadcast live on pay-per-view. In the main event of the evening, welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre will take on Jake Shields, while featherweight champion Jose Aldo will defend his belt in the co-main event against Mark Hominick.
