Gerald Harris Replaces Rivera, Takes On Sakara At UFC 118

Gerald Harris has agreed to step in for the injured Jorge Rivera and will face Alessio Sakara at UFC 118.

MMAJunkie.com reported the news on Friday evening.

Harris, fresh off a slam finish of Dave Branch that earned him the “Knockout of the Night” award at UFC 116, will step into the Octagon for the fourth time this year. He has defeated John Salter, Mario Miranda and Branch while running up a 10-fight win streak.

Sakara is seeking his fourth straight win after defeating Joe Vedepo, James Irvin and Thales Leites.

UFC 118 is headlined by a lightweight title rematch between B.J. Penn and Frankie Edgar. It takes place Aug. 28 at Boston’s TD Garden.
