Pat Curran is the eighth and final competitor announced for Bellator Fighting Championships' upcoming lightweight tournament. The tournament is considered the centerpiece of Bellator's second season with the recent signing of former UFC star Roger Huerta.

Curran, the cousin of veteran fighter Jeff Curran, appeared on the second season of Tapout's reality show. He's won three of his past four fights.

"Pat is a very solid addition to our stacked 155-pound tournament," Bellator founder and CEO Bjorn Rebney stated. "Pat comes from MMA royalty and is ready to make his own impact on the sport. He was sought after very aggressively by several other major promotions, so I'm excited for him to be a part of our organization. It will be great to see him fight in front of his many hometown fans next month at the Chicago Theatre."

With the announcement, the lightweight tournament includes: Roger Huerta, Pat Curran, Toby Imada, Chad Hinton, Mike Ricci, Janne Tulirinta, Ferrid Kheder and Cary Vanier.

Curran is expected to make his Bellator debut at Bellator 14 on April 15.
