1266952194_ssf4iphone.jpgI forgot to mention last Friday that Super Street Fighter 4 is also headed to the iPhone. GamePro recently posted an exclusive hands-on video of the game in action, along with some details, which can be found here. Doesn't look too shabby! Though ten bucks for just eight characters seems a bit iffy (my guess is that other faces will make an appearance, provided that you fork over the money for DLC), plus onscreen buttons have never worked so hot for the platform. Also, I'm assuming that it unless it's on 3GS, it'll run like ass, like many recent big name releases.

Still, it looks promising. Though back to that roster; notice something? Like the lack of female fighters? Whereas the always popular Cammy or Sakura? There's a possible reason for their absence, one that might also cost Chun Li when all is said and done...

Apple recently instituted a bunch of new rules as it pertains to content that it views as sexual in nature. As you can see, via one developer who had their app taken down as a result of this new puritanical mindset, it's about as ridiculous as one can get...

1. No images of women in bikinis (Ice skating tights are not OK either)
2. No images of men in bikinis! (I didn't ask about Ice Skating tights for men)
3. No skin (he seriously said this) (I asked if a Burqa was OK, and the Apple guy got angry)
4. No silhouettes that indicate that Wobble can be used for wobbling boobs
5. No sexual connotations or innuendo: boobs, babes, booty, sex – all banned
6. Nothing that can be sexually arousing!!
7. No apps will be approved that in any way imply sexual content (not sure how Playboy is still in the store, but ...)

Reaction to this has been not at all surprising, at least from Apple zombies. Via the source of the list, The Unofficial Apple Weblog, the author honestly believes this is a good thing, since it frees him from the angst and turmoil that ensues whenever he come across a "hot Asian" app that pops up during a App Store visit. For the record, I go there at least one a week and download on average three to five apps a week, often from blind searches throughout the store, and not once have I EVER come across these so called sexy apps.

So yeah, not only expect Chun Li to be missing from the final product, but both Blanka and Dhalsim as well for showing way too much skin! And fellow Apple users wonder why I'm embarrassed to be a OS user.
