UPDATE — December 10: Here's the first official trailer...FOR REAL THIS TIME:
Original story below
Sorry Godzilla fans - it's gone...
The impending 2014 reboot of Godzilla made a special appearance during its big Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic Con 2013. And everyone has been itching to spot a sneak peek of the new monstrous look the giant lizard is sporting.
Today, we got that look. Unfortunately, at the request of the studio we had to remove the trailer from this post — along with any associated screenshots.
But it was here, and it was awesome. Accept our apologies. And keep your eye out for an official trailer.
You're still here, aren't you? Well, we might as well describe the trailer for you then:
Scenes of destruction litter the screen - buildings have been completely totaled, trains lay destroyed near its tracks and large cities resemble the after effects of a nuclear attack. The voice-over that's playing the background fits these scenes perfectly, since its derived from a bit of dialogue that was given by "The Father of the Atomic Bomb" J. Robert Oppenheimer
Oppenheimer's words are in reference to the test explosion him and his team of nuclear scientists witnessed at the Trinity event. His words describe the creation of a monster (the nuclear bomb).
But in the case of this film, that nuclear bomb has LITERALLY created a monster - the terrifying Godzilla!
The video above provides you with the speech that Oppenheimer provided when it came time to describe the Trinity event's proceedings:
