Tricky, tricky, AMC. As far as viral ads go, this one for the return of The Walking Dead is one of the best. It takes the simple premise of "What if the zombies were already here?" and brings it to life with the help of The Walking Dead's great makeup and effects teams by releasing zombies in New York City.
I'm a sucker for anything that makes reality more like fiction.
These zombies look real. I want to say I wouldn't be scared to come across one because of zombies, you know, not being real and all, but that's a little too easy to say from behind a computer screen. Going about your everyday life and seeing a zombie that looks like it's real might be a bit startling.
I'm also a sucker for anything that does something weird in public and shows us people's reactions.
So, well done, AMC. You've tickled my fancy ... but in like a totally platonic way. Although, it is annoying that this is tied in with that whole Dish Network fight thing that I really don't care about.
How do you think you'd react to seeing this quality of zombie on the street?
