According to Yates, the Giants signed 2025 third-overall pick Abdul Carter on Thursday and converted part of Burns' salary into a signing bonus to stay under the salary cap. The 2019 first-round pick made an impact in his first year with the Giants, recording 71 total tackles, including 8.5 sacks, and eight passes defended over 17 regular-season contests. He's now expected to be a part of one of the NFL's top pass-rush duos in 2025, starting opposite Carter.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Thursday that Wilson will take the team's first-team reps to begin OTAs and is expected to start Week 1, Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports. Wilson remains in relatively clear position to kick off the 2025 regular season under center for New York after inking a one-year, $10.5 million contract with the team in March. The Giants' offseason approach is shaping up to be far less of a quarterback competition than the selection of Jaxon Dart in the first round of April's draft, at 25th overall, might indicate. Carroll speculates that Wilson's one-year deal positions him as a clear bridge quarterback for 2025, while Jameis Winston's two-year contract gives New York another established veteran as starter insurance for 2025 and a player capable of acting as either competition or a backup for Dart down the line. If Wilson is able to capably pilot Daboll's offense and keep New York relatively competitive, at least in line with expectations, he figures to retain a strong grip on the No. 1 gig, but it also wouldn't take more than a handful of early-season duds for pressure to mount.
The Giants re-signed Humphrey on Monday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports. The Texas product was dropped by the Giants just three days ago, but it now appears the team has decided to bring him back to New York. Humphrey appeared in all 17 of the Broncos' regular-season contests in 2024, catching 31 of his 45 targets for 293 yards and one touchdown. With the Giants' limited depth depth at wide receiver, Humphrey will likely have the opportunity to compete for a reserve role on offense this summer.
Dimukeje suffered a torn pectoral muscle during offseason workouts and will be sidelined indefinitely, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. After recording 4.0 sacks in 2023 for the Cardinals, Dimukeje appeared in 11 regular-season games for Arizona last season but recorded just 15 tackles (nine solo) and one forced fumble on 158 defensive snaps. Dimukeje inked a one-year deal with the Giants back in March. His status for Week 1 is now in question.
The Giants drafted RB Cam Skattebo at No. 105 overall to compete with Tracy and Devin Singletary, per NFL.com's Kevin Patra. Taken 166th overall a year earlier, Tracy never looked back after Singletary's groin injury opened up a starting job Week 5. Tracy started 12 of 13 games from that point forward and averaged 4.4 YPC for the season, despite being stuck in a brutal offense, with the main negatives being five fumbles and five drops. He's the favorite to start Week 1, but it may be an open competition this summer, considering Singletary has a respectable track record as an NFL starter and Skattebo exploded for 2,316 yards from scrimmage at Arizona State last year. Speed is the obvious advantage for Tracy, a former college wideout who ran a 4.48 40 at 5-foot-11, 209 pounds. Singletary ran a 4.66 before he was drafted six years ago, and Skattebo was timed around 4.6 or 4.65 at his pro day this spring.
The Giants are declining Neal's (ribs/hip) fifth-year option, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports. Neal has struggled at right tackle since being drafted 7th overall by the Giants leading to him being benched prior to the start of the 2024 campaign. He was dealing with a hip and ribs injuries at the end of last season, and the team could potentially switch him to guard in hopes of revitalizing his career.
General manager Joe Schoen said Thursday that the Giants will pick up Thibodeaux's fifth-year option, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports. Thibodeaux will be with the Giants through the 2026 season and will collect $14.75 million in the fifth year of his rookie deal. The 2022 first-round pick missed five games in 2024 due to a wrist injury and finished the regular season with 28 tackles (14 solo), including 5.5 sacks, two pass defenses and one forced fumble in 12 games. Thibodeaux will be part of a formidable defensive front consisting of Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence (elbow) and 2025 third-overall pick Abdul Carter (foot).
The Giants re-signed Summers on Monday. Summers appeared in 16 regular-season games for the G-Men last season, making a pair of starts, and finished the 2024 campaign with 29 tackles (13 solo) and one pass breakup as a reserve linebacker and special teams contributor. He'll compete for a similar role next season.
