Diggs (ACL) participated in on-field work in uniform and without a brace on his right knee at Day 3 of OTAs on Thursday, Taylor Kyles of CLNSMedia.com reports. The Patriots' photo release of OTAs reveals Diggs looking healthy and without any apparent hindrances related to his right knee, in which he suffered a torn right ACL on Oct. 27. While the 31-year-old wideout likely still has some hurdles to overcome in his rehab before being cleared for contact, his ability to get in some on-field work at voluntary OTAs lends further optimism to the notion he'll be a full-go for Week 1. Since signing Diggs to a three-year, $69 million deal in free agency, New England added a speedy vertical threat to the wide receiver room in the form of third-round pick Kyle Williams, plus a capable pass catcher in the backfield in second-rounder TreVeyon Henderson. Those additions don't represent huge threats to Diggs' position as the clear top target for second-year quarterback Drake Maye, health permitting, but Henderson and Williams are explosive options that this offense had otherwise been lacking in that regard with incumbent wideouts DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Kendrick Bourne, Mack Hollins, Ja'Lynn Polk (shoulder) and Javon Baker.

Latest Patriots News
Stefon Diggs : Practicing without knee brace
Christian Gonzalez : Active for OTAs
Gonzalez (concussion) was an active participant as the Patriots' OTAs got underway Tuesday, Chad Graff of The Athletic reports. Gonzalez ended the 2024 campaign on the sidelines with a concussion, but he now appears to be fully healthy ahead of the 2025 season. The cornerback has blossomed into being one of the best at his position in the league, recording 59 total tackles (50 solo), 11 passes defensed, two of which were interceptions, and a fumble recovery over 16 regular-season contests in 2024.
Christian Barmore : Good to go
Barmore (illness) said Thursday that he's past his blood clot issue, cleared for offseason workouts and expecting to play Week 1, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports. The defensive tackle was diagnosed with blood clots ahead of the 2024 campaign and then missed the first 10 games. After returning for four contests, his symptoms came back, forcing him onto the reserve/non-football illness list for the final three weeks of the season. The Alabama product and 2021 second-round pick recorded 64 tackles (39 solo), including 8.5 sacks, and six pass breakups in 2023, his last healthy season.
Trayveon Williams : Lands with Patriots
The Patriots signed Williams a Wednesday. Williams spent the first six seasons of his career with the Bengals and will now join the Patriots. He did record a single offensive touch during the 2024 campaign as he played almost exclusively on special teams and will likely have a similar role with New England should he make their final roster.
Brock Lampe : Inks deal with Patriots
Lampe signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent Friday. Lampe began his collegiate career as a linebacker before switching to fullback, spending all four years at Northern Illinois. He was considered one of the best fullbacks in all of college football last season, logging seven carries for 14 yards and one touchdown, along with nine receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown through the air. Now in New England, Lampe is expected to compete for a depth spot on the Patriots' active roster and potentially contribute on special teams throughout the summer.
Cole Strange : Option not exercised
The Patriots won't exercise Strange's fifth-year option, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. The 2022 first-round pick from Chattanooga has struggled with injuries over the past two seasons, appearing in just 13 regular-season contests. Thus, it's no surprise that Patriots' are declining to exercise his fifth-year option. Although Strange is currently back at full health, the offseason addition of Garrett Bradbury via free agency likely means he'll serve as a depth piece on New England's offensive line.
Rhamondre Stevenson : Added competition for carries
Stevenson will have added competition for backfield touches following the Patriots' selection of TreVeyon Henderson in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Chad Graff and Lauren Smith of The Athletic report. Per Graff, in the wake of the draft, Stevenson, Henderson and Antonio Gibson are poised to lead the team's RB corps this coming season, with Terrell Jennings and reported UDFA signing Lan Larison in the depth mix. Stevenson is coming off a 2024 season in which he recorded 207 carries for 801 yards and seven TDs to go along with 33 catches (on 41 targets) for 168 yards and another score in 15 games. Ball security was an issue for Stevenson in that span, however, with the 2021 fourth-rounder racking up seven fumbles after recording just one (in 12 contests) in 2023. That's an issue Stevenson will no doubt focus on improving, but in any case, the addition of the dynamic Henderson seems destined to cut into his workload this season. A committee approach featuring the bruising Stevenson and the speedy Henderson, with Gibson also sprinkled in, appears the most likely outcome, a looming scenario that is on track to impact Stevenson's volume in 2025.
John Parker Romo : Joined by rookie in kicker room
Romo will face competition from rookie sixth-round pick Andres Borregales during the preseason and training camp, Karen Guregian of MassLive.com reports. Any time a team uses a draft pick on a kicker, they typically become the favorite to win the job out of training camp. Romo played four games with the Vikings last year and hit 11 of 12 field goals, including five of six tries from beyond 40 yards. However, Borregales was automatic in college and showed range with multiple boots from beyond 50 yards.
