UFC seeks replacement featherweight
Cub Swanson has suffered an undisclosed injury while training for his UFC on Versus 3 bout with Erik Koch and has withdrawn from the March 3 bout.
HeavyMMA.com confirmed the news with sources close to the fight. MMAjunkie.com first reported the news on Wednesday night.
UFC featherweight/bantamweight matchmaker Sean Shelby is currently looking for a featherweight to take the bout on short notice – a difficult task with many of the UFC’s contracted featherweights already booked for fights.
Swanson finished his WEC career with a victory over Mackens Semerzier at WEC 52. The bout with Koch would’ve served as his UFC debut.
Koch ended his tenure in the WEC with a knockout victory over Francisco Rivera. The lone loss of his career came at the hands of Chad Mendes nearly one year ago.
