EPISODE 8: Crystal of the Desert - When Astro Boy goes to the desert to investigate an unusual series of droughts he discovers a mysterious Crystal among the sand.

Astro Boy, created by Osamu Tezuka, is a manga and television series first broadcast in Japan during the 1960s, but the videos featured here are from an American remake that aired in the 1980s. The story follows the adventures of a robotic, Pinocchio- type character created by the head of the Ministry of Science to replace his son, whom he lost in an auto accident. Realizing that he does not belong in the domestic life, Astro Boy eventually leaves home to experience the world on his own.
