That's right, you read correctly, Windows Phones everywhere finally got Instagram, but there's just one problem: the app can't take pictures. Twitter user, Joebelfiore mocked the release of the app:
We're all gonna look back on the end of 2014 as the ending of the app-gap for Windows Phone. The 3rd ecosystem is decidedly here!

So Instagram for Windows Phone launches w/ no ability to pictures. Reminds me of the time BlackBerry launched a tablet without native email

For now, the app is functional, except you know, it can't do something the iOS and Android app have always been able to.
Windows needs to inject some momentum into their app ecosystem, or it will always lack behind the established players, in this case, embarrassingly so.
