If you thought the Galaxy Note II was a big handset, Samsung just announced the new Galaxy Mega with a 5.8-inch screen and 6.3-inch screen size options.
The 5.8-inch version is powered by a 1.4 GHz CPU, 2600mAH battery, 8GB of internal memory and 1.5GB of RAM. The 6.8-inch version is powered by a 1.7Ghz dual-core processor, 3200mAh battery and comes with 8 or 16 GB. Both devices come with microSD slots and run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
JK Shin, CEO and head of IT & mobile business at Samsung Electronics, says, "We are aware of a great potential in the bigger screen for extensive viewing multimedia, web browsing, and more. We are excited to provide another choice to meet our consumers’ varying lifestyles, all while maintaining the high-quality features of the award-winning Galaxy series."
Other features of the Galaxy Mega include Group Play, Samsung WatchON, Samsung Link, S Translator and ChatON. Samsung Galaxy Mega will start shipping in May to Europe and Europe. Samsung promises to roll out its device gradually.
