Facebook appears to be having problems this morning as some users are reporting issues with their timeline, while Facebook pages also appear to be having issues. This comes in the wake of FB changing "like" and "share" buttons throughout the web.
The Facebook iPhone is also crashing. The app will open, followed by a moment of the spinning loading wheel, and then the app closes. This may have to do with the Facebook iOS update that recently occured.
Downrightnow.com, a website that monitors webpages for outages based on crowd reporting shows the following data:
IsItDownRightNow.com, a similar site said that Facebook was up, but that over 105 users had reported problems in the last few hours.
Heavy.com's facebook page "Admin Panel" was previously loading, but the rest of the page — and the ability to make posts — was not, but it appears to be working now.
Facebook has made no comment at this time, but in all likelihood, the outages will disappear shortly without a word from Menlo Park. The social media giant rarely comments on outages except in extreme cases, like the 2010 incident that an engineer described as "the worst outage we’ve had in over four years."
Mark Zuckerberg did not actually tweet the following:
But many facebook users have flocked to twitter to comment on the outage, leading to #facebookdown as a trending hashtag.
