Digital Detox: A Break from Electronics
Digital Detox originates from the idea of "detoxing" from actual toxins, like hard drugs, which are you know, actually toxic. Still, as the world becomes more and more technology-oriented, it's easy to see how our lives are absolutely, disgustingly consumed by our computers and possibly even more so by our phones. A digital detox is a commitment to go out and experience the world without computers, phones, or basically anything that lets you communicate with other people using digital technology. Obviously, things like microwaves are alright, whereas television is not, even if it's not a direct communication.
Usage Examples:
• I haven't gotten any likes on this hilarious status. Ugh, I'm going to go on a digital detox.
• Kyler went on a digital detox for 2 days and lost his job, savings, wife, and goldfish.
• I'm going on a digital detox to focus more on my drug habit.
