A cake pop is basically just a delicious morsel of cake on the end of a stick. Now, here's the real benefit, it has a lot of frosting, but not too much. Basically, you can get a really nice balance by surrounding a ball with frosting, counter to the rectangular cake model, where you invariably end up with bits of pure cake, and bits of pure frosting.
