World War II veteran Delbert "Shorty" Belton has been murdered at the age of 88, beaten to death in Spokane, Washington, outside an Eagle Loddge where he was headed to play pool.
Witnesses, corroborated by surveillance footage, say he was attacked by two teenagers.
Many are saddened and outraged by this horrific news. Here are some of the tweets from those severely upset by the death of Belton, an American hero who was fought for the Army in the Pacific Theater and was wounded in the Battle of Okinawa.
