A Canadian version of the popular U.S. reality show Storage Wars is coming to Canada, with filming scheduled to begin in locations across Ontario in May and will air on OLN.

"The hit Storage Wars franchise is perfectly in tune with the outrageous characters and real-life stories that OLN's viewers look forward to every night," said Claire Freeland, Director of Original Programming, Rogers Media, and Executive Producer of Storage Wars Canada. "Canada is filled with dynamic treasure hunters and passionate collectors that will bring this home grown series to life, and we are excited to give Canadians this opportunity."

The couple who inspired the series, Laura and Dan Dotson, were on Toronto's Breakfast Television this morning to discuss the show.

Storage Wars Canada will run 36 half-hour episodes of the show that sees professional buyers use their skills to bit on contents of abandoned, repossessed, and forgotten storage containers, with only minutes to browse the contents of the locker.

"Storage Wars Canada will allow Canadians to take part in one of television's most successful franchises and we are very happy to be working with OLN on this amazing project," said Guy O'Sullivan, President, Proper Television.

Storage Wars Canada is currently casting for treasure hunters, auctioneers, and appraisers for its north-of-the-border version. You can apply by sending a resume, photo, and brief description of yourself to storagetv@propertelevision.com.
