Zoo Keeper Injured After Gorillas Sneak Into Kitchen

A Calgary zookeeper was injured last week when some gorillas escaped their enclosure and snuck into a kitchen where their food was prepared.

The zookeeper, who was treated in hospital for minor injuries, attempted to corral the gorillas out of the kitchen where their fruit, fresh vegetables and grain were being kept and back into their attached enclosure.

Malu Celli, a zoo curator, told the Winnipeg Free Press:

The public was never at risk and the zoo's emergency response team was very quick on the scene. They prevented the situation from becoming serious.
