Developers are creating apps for everything these days, including apps that can recognize your friends by what they’re wearing. Srihari Nelakuditi, a USC researcher, has created an app called InSight for Google Glass, that will let you do just that. The app will create visual fingerprints with the “Spatogram,”  and will focus on the color and the pattern of someones clothes. That person could be a friend, family member, or even someone you don’t know. By taking pictures, the app  will be able to link the image to your friend’s name. The app can still work even if someone is turned away from you.

In order for the app to work correctly, your friends would need to wear clothes. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work if they’re naked. During the testing with 15 people, developers noticed that the app would get at least 93 percent of the images correct. Various reports are saying that the app could be used to find friends at the mall or at a concert. It could even be used to remember someone’s name if you’re meeting them for the first time.
