burger king twitter hacked mcdonalds

The Twitterverse is abuzz with some pretty hilarious, if not controversial news: Burger King's official Twitter page has been hacked (possibly by international hacker team Anonymous) to look like it belongs to rival fast food chain McDonald's.

Among the changes the hacker(s) made to the landing page were to rename the page "McDonald's," change the description section to read "Just got sold to McDonald's because the whopper flopped =[ FREDOM IS FAILURE℠. http://mcdonalds.com," and change the background picture to an advertisement for McDonald's Fish McBites. They've also been sending out some humorous tweets.

One tweet linked to Anonymous' Twitter account, which leads to speculation that they're the ones behind the hack. The hack has been causing quite a stir among Twitter users, with many thousands of retweets among Burger King's, er, McDonald's tweets. Some tweets are simply links to rap songs, while still others advertise Burger King bath salts and accuse BK employees of taking Percocets. According to Anonymous' tweets, the BK account has now been suspended.

We grabbed some of the racy tweets they've fired off below. Be warned that some are pretty explicit. Happy reading!
