3 Killed in Plane Crash in Central Florida

The wreckage was found 20 miles west of Vero Beach, Florida.

Three people are dead after a small private plane crashed in central Florida on Thursday, reports WFLX 29.

According to the Federal Aviation Adminstration, the Cessna 310 took off from Okeechobee Airport and was headed to Bartow. The FAA lost contact with the plane at about 4:35 p.m. on Thursday near Fort Pierce and a notice was issued for a search. The wreckage was discovered on Friday morning about 20 miles west of Vero Beach.

The National Transportation Safety Board said that a cause of the crash would not be determined until the end of the month and that the identities of the travelers would not be released until Saturday.
