William Hilton Paul, the 19-year-old grandson of former presidential candidate Ron Paul and the son of Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, was arrested Saturday morning at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport — allegedly wasted and acting wild after a morning flight from Lexington.
The heir to his elders' conservative legacy was charged with underage drinking, disorderly conduct and being intoxicated and disruptive.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Lt. Blake Hollar tells ABC the boy "was possibly served alcohol on the flight."
The teen was released after posting a $750 bond.
Rand Paul's office released a statement:
Sen. Paul is a national public figure and subject to scrutiny in the public arena. However, as many parents with teenagers would understand, his family should be afforded the privacy and respect they deserve in a situation such as this.
Rand Paul had his own airport incident back in January when he refused a TSA patdown and was "detained" in Nashville.
