Shannen Doherty called 911 last month concerned about a suicidal fan, a 27-year-old woman, on Twitter who threatened to kill herself unless the actress called her and TMZ just obtained the audio recording.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 star phoned the Westampton Township Police Department in New Jersey from her Los Angeles home. She immediately identifies herself as the actress.
“This is going to sound incredibly strange … my name is Shannen Doherty and I’m an actress. I’m on Twitter, sadly, and there is a girl that is threatening to shoot herself and she lives somewhere over there.”
Kudos to you, Shannen Doherty. She could have very well blocked the Twitter follower and went on with her famous life, but instead did the right thing and called the police.
“I’m completely untrained to deal with somebody threatening suicide.”
After all was said and done the dispatcher lost his cool and gushed over the fact that he was talking to the actress, saying his coworkers all couldn’t believe who he was talking to. It’s cool, some girl is threatening to kill herself, but guess who I’m on the phone with!
As promised, the police went to the home of the fan and she reassured them that she had no intentions of killing herself.
