Cops: Sandy Hook Shooter Adam Lanza Did NOT Wear Bulletproof Vest

Add it to the long list of facts that have been misreported in the Sandy Hook Massacre in Newtown, Connecticut.

According to a report from the New Haven Register, shooter Adam Lanza wore a utility vest — a sport-fishing-type, multi-pocketed garment — and did not wear a bulletproof vest or other body armor during his rampage, contrary to multiple prior reports. The newspaper quotes Connecticut State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance.

The shooter killed himself as cops closed in and never took fire from a gun other than his own.

As details of the tragedy unfolded several “facts” were misreported and re-reported by various major media outlets:

The killer was Ryan Lanza (WRONG: Ryan Lanza is the killer’s brother). Nancy Lanza, Adam’s mother, was a teacher at the school (WRONG: She was never a teacher). Adam left a rifle in the car but carried out the school killings with handguns (WRONG: He used the assault rifle in the attack). Nancy was killed at the school (WRONG: She was killed at her home before the school rampage). Peter Lanza, Adam’s dad, was dead (WRONG: He was alive and living with his new wife in another town).
