Hell has no fury like a woman scorned, and when that woman is 6 foot, 2-inch tall Chamique Holdsclaw, and she’s a former WNBA superstar, you might want to get the heck out of her way.

Holdsclaw turned herself in to Atlanta police Thursday after she allegedly fired a shot into her former girlfriend’s car. The other woman, Jennifer Lacy, a player for the Tulsa Shock, said she and Holdsclaw were in a relationship while they both played with the Atlanta Dream back in 2009.

Lacy told police she was working out, when Holdsclaw approached her, saying she wanted to put some items in Lacy’s Range Rover.
After that, Lacy said she noticed Holdsclaw following her, so she drove to a friend’s house. Holdsclaw got out of her own car, wielding a baseball bat and started smashing the Range Rover’s windows, fired a shot and left.

Holdsclaw suffers from clinical depression, according to ESPN, was released on $100,000 bond. An Atlanta judge ordered she wear a monitoring device and have no contact with Lacy, who was not injured in the alleged attack. She’s due in court on Nov. 30 to face charges of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Holdsclaw, is an international basketball superstar, although her last professional game was in 2010 with San Antonio. In college, she lead Tennessee to three consecutive national championships from 1996-98, after which she began her pro career, which included six WNBA All-Star games. She also is an Olympic gold medalist, winning with the U.S. team in 2000. In addition, she remains the Southeastern Conference scoring leader, after having 3,025 career points in Tennessee.

But for all her stardom, Holdsclaw has had a troubled life. Her depression included a suicide attempt during her pro career with the Los Angeles Sparks, when she overdosed on her depression meds.

Her problems are all discussed in her book, Breaking Through: Beating The Odds Shot After Shot, that was released earlier this year.
