President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney are taking their last shots at winning the nation’s battleground states today, as the race remains in a dead heat.
Romney closed the weekend with stops in Pennsylvania and Virginia, while was in Ohio and Colorado.
Romney was making a play for votes in Pennsylvania, which normally votes Democrat, and his campaign has poured millions of dollars of last-minute advertising into the state. “Just two more day sand we can get to work on rebuilding our country,” he told an audience in Philadelphia.
He made similar comments earlier in the day in Des Moines, Iowa and in Ohio. Obama, in addition to leaving Cincinnati to jet to Denver, said his final campaign stop will be in Des Moines.
On Monday, the president is also scheduled in Wisconsin and Ohio, while Romney is scheduled to be in Florida, Ohio, New Hampshire and Virginia.
Both candidates used their appearances to woo remaining undecided voters and urge supporters to keep working hard in the final hours of the hotly contested race. They also both pledged to work as bipartisan leaders, trying to woo Independent voters who will help decide the race.
