The Daily Mail reports that a painting, banned four years ago from being displayed due to public outrage, has just gone out to the public in Boston – Obama as Jesus.
The painting (Obamesus? Jebama? Its actual title is “Truth” by artist Michael D’Antuono) was originally held from the public four years ago due to outcries against it. Now, though, it is on display as part of a larger exhibition called “Artists on the Stump – the Road to the White House 2012” and hasn’t received a single complaint.
Designed entirely as a metaphor and in no way meant to compare Obama to Jesus, according to D’Antuono, the new exhibition and display of the art is a way of him to strike back against critics that had forced him to shut his works down previously.
For those of you in the Boston area who want to see the painting for yourself in person it will be on display until December 15th at the Bunker Hill Community College Art Gallery.
