Israeli Defense Forces Fire Into Syria

The IDF got pissed early today as the internal struggle within Syria’s borders spilled out into Israel, causing several rounds to hit an Israeli military outpost. In response, the IDF fired one strategically placed tank shell, as a warning shot, to let Syria know to keep their in-fighting within their own borders.

It’s the first time Israel has fired into Syrian borders since 1973, during the Yom Kippur War.

Israel has also issued a message to the U.N., letting the coalition of nations know that any further artillery rounds making their way over the Syrian-Israeli border would result in a more severe response.

IDF spokesman Brig.-Gen. Yoav Mordechai stated:

We will not accept any firing into our territory. This was a signal to the Syrians, that we will not be so forgiving of everything that lands in a territory.
