Andrew WK Middle East Cultural Ambassador

Andrew W.K. is going to the Middle East … as an official cultural ambassador of the US State Department. Get ready, Middle East, it’s time to PARTY!

Apparently, Mr. W.K. is heading to Bahrain in December 2012 on behalf of the State Department, where he will visit elementary schools, the University of Bahrain, and music venues in order to promote “partying, positive power, and world peace.”

Well, if anyone could use a little partying, it’s the Middle East.

On the Andrew W.K. website’s announcement of the trip, there’s a quote of the man himself

This is a tremendous invitation. I’m very thankful to the Department of State for giving me the opportunity to visit a place I’ve never been before. And I feel very privileged and humbled by the chance to represent the United States of America and show the good people of Bahrain the power of positive partying. I can hardly wait for this adventure!

And since this is a post about Andrew W.K. it wouldn’t be complete without: PARTY PARTY PARTY PARTY PARTY PARTY PARTY PARTY PARTY PARTY!!!!
