Sega's "Project Needlemouse" has finally been unveiled, and it's pretty much exactly what many have been long waiting for (to the point that most of diehard fans no longer care about it anymore): a proper 2D Sonic:

The trailer is not the most exhilarating thing sin the world, but at least the few seconds of gameplay footage looks decent. Restrained, but at this point, the less gimmicks the better. Also, best part, no stupid sidekicks, which has been promised by Sega. But you know, this is Sega, so the game will be messed up, somehow.

And it will: according to Tiny Cartridge, the PSN and Wii will have motion controls. Wonderful. Motion control barely worked in New Super Mario Bros Wii, and as if it needs to be stated, Sega is no Nintendo.
