On October 26, 2013, cops in Albuquerque, New Mexico, engaged in a terrifying chase and shootout with gunman Christopher Chase. Now, the shocking bodycam footage taken from one of the officers involved that day has been made public by the Albuquerque Journal. Watch it above.
Chase, who had the words "Cop Killer" tattooed on his knuckles, allegedly told witnesses to call 911 and tell the operator that he was waiting for cops in southeast Albuquerque. The caller got the address where Chase was holed up wrong, which led the first responding officer to encounter Chase sooner than he expected, reported the Albuquerque Journal. The gunman ambushed the cop and stole his cruiser. This sparked a massive police chase throughout New Mexico's largest city.
Chase was dressed in full body armor, a face mask and armed with an assault rifle and pistol.

The pursuit ended at a gas station when Chase crashed the cruiser. A shootout ensued and Chase shot four cops, who all recovered with non-life-threatening injuries. Cops returned fire and Chase was killed. A recently released autopsy shows that Chase was shot eight times in total, including four times in the neck and once in the head. In one piece of the video you can see Chase bloodied and slumped over the wheel of the stolen cruiser.
The shooting remains under investigation.
