2 Students Shot in Philadelphia High School

Delaware Valley Charter Philadelphia School Shooting

Two students have been shot at Delaware Valley Charter High School in Philadelphia, reports My Fox Philadelphia. The gunfire erupted at around 3:30 p.m. CBS Philly reports that the gunman is a student of the high school.

Here’s what we know so far:


1. Both Victims Were Taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center

The victims are reported to be in stable condition, reports Philly Enquirer. Also reporting from the scene, ABC Philly, is saying that both were shot in the arm.


2. The Suspect Is In Custody

Police are reviewed school surveillance footage to help identify the perp. ABC Philly is reporting that cops are looking for a male suspect. At 4:45 p.m., Philadelphia police confirmed via Twitter that the suspect was in custody.

Reports suggest that a student gun man pulled the weapon in the school’s gymnasium when it went off.


3. Neither Victim Has Been Named

One victim is an adult male, one is a female juvenile.


4. All Other Students Are Believed to be Safe

No other victims are being reported. CBS Philly reports that cops do not believe this is an “active shooter” situation.


5. The School is Partially Locked Down

Parents are being told not to turn-up at the school but to go to Fisher Avenue and Old York Road to meet their kids. Fox Philadelphia is reporting that students can bee seen milling around the front of the school.
