WATCH: 22-Year-Old Killed by Food Allergy in Prison After Guards Ignored Him

Washington State news station KIRO7 was finally granted access to footage taken within Snohomish County Jail the day 22-year-old Michael Saffioti died.

Saffioti was serving time for a misdemeanor marijuana possession after turning himself in to authorities on July 2, 2013. Less than 24 hours later, Saffioti was dead from an allergy attack triggered by dairy in his prison oatmeal.

The video, which you can see above, shows Saffioti question the guards as to whether the oatmeal contains any dairy. After he is satisfied with their answer, he sits down and eats. Minutes later he is back at the guard desk taking his inhaler before he is sent back to is cell.

35 minutes after he ate, footage shows a guard discovering an unconscious Saffioti and nurses finally arrive to preform CPR.

Saffioti's mother is filling a $10 million wrongful death suit claiming that the prison knew of his food allergies and neglected his calls for help.
