High School Locked Down as Cops Search for Teen ‘Who Tried to Kill Mom’

A manhunt in Salem, New Hampshire, caused panic as the local high school was locked down while police searched for a fugitive, Thomas George, 18, who allegedly attacked his mom, reports The Eagle Tribune.

George was eventually arrested by police.

1. He Tried to Murder His Mother, According to Reports

Police allege that George attempted to kill his mother at her home in Salem early this morning and, when his attempt failed, fled the Salem area. Salem Deputy Police Chief Shawn Patten told The Associated Press that George's mother had been taken to a Boston Hospital but wouldn't go into details about her condition.


2. The Local High School Was Tracked Down as a Precaution

Salem High School was locked down. George was reported to have "ties" to the school (below).


3. George Was Believed to be Armed and Dangerous

Police told the public that George was armed with both a knife and a hammer.


4. His Car Was Found Abandoned 15 Miles From Salem

George's car was recovered in Derry, New Hampshire, about 15 miles away. The car features an Air Force bumper sticker.

Colleen Ritzer was found murdered in a wooded area close to Danvers High School. Student Philip Chism has been charged with her murder.

This panic comes just two days after 14-year-old Philip Chism was charged with murdering his math teacher Colleen Ritzer in Danvers, Massachusetts.
