1. Police Arrived to Find Wells Has Been Shot
Wells was found dead of a gunshot wound at his home on Beaver Run Drive in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Police arrived at the home after a 911 call at around 8:50 p.m. local time..
2. Suspects Made Off With Wells' Car
Police are searching for two suspects. After shooting Wells, the pair made off with the family's Toyota Camry. The car was later found two miles away from the home. The suspects drove a Dodge Dakota pickup truck.
3. Wells' Wife and Child Survived the Ordeal
Wells' wife and child were in the home at the time of the shooting, neither was injured during the ordeal.
4. This May Not Be a Clear-Cut Attempted Robbery
Police believe Wells had some sort of relationship with the two men being sought for the murder. It's still not known if the men forced their way into the home or were allowed in.
5. Wells' Family May Not Receive Military Compensation
