‘The Town’-Style Halloween Armored Car Heist Nets Robbers $300,000

The FBI has joined the Philadelphia PD in investigating an elaborate heist that took place today in broad daylight in the Holmesburg neighborhood of the city, reports My Fox Philly.

Here’s what we know so far:


1. The Robbers Hit a Wells Fargo at 10 a.m.

The robbers were wearing halloween masks and armed with Tec-9 handguns. They struck a Garda armored car outside at Wells Fargo bank. The robbery happened during at around 10 a.m. at Halloween.


2. They Were Wearing Halloween Masks

A brief description of the three suspects has been released; they are all black males who were wearing hoodies and Halloween masks.


3. Some Cash Has Already Been Recovered

Two getaway cars are believed to have been recovered by police as well as some of the missing cash. According to CBS Philly, the getaway car is a green Plymouth Voyager.


4. The Feds Are Now On the Case

The FBI was called in to assist the investigation and has begun a forensic examination of the Garda truck. No arrests have been made, reports Philly.com.


5. The Amount of Cash Stolen is Disputed

Reports vary on the amount of cash stolen, CBS Philly says the amount may be as much as $350,000. Philly.com reports that officials have refused to give the exact amount as they are still searching for clues.
